As all websites inevitably become, the website that we had previously developed and designed for them (powered by the <a title=\"Silkstream Content Management System\" href=\"https:\/\/www.silkstream.net\/blog\/2014\/11\/silkstream-custom-content-management-system-compare-alternative-popular-ecommerce-cms.html\">Silkstream CMS<\/a>, of course) was starting to look a little outdated.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">BEFORE Surgical Holdings&#8217; new website design:<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1833\" alt=\"Surgical Holdings Old Website\" src=\"https:\/\/www.silkstream.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/surgical-holdings-old-website.png\" width=\"1240\" height=\"735\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.silkstream.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/surgical-holdings-old-website.png 1240w, https:\/\/www.silkstream.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/surgical-holdings-old-website-600x355.png 600w, https:\/\/www.silkstream.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/surgical-holdings-old-website-800x474.png 800w, https:\/\/www.silkstream.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/surgical-holdings-old-website-624x369.png 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1240px) 100vw, 1240px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Though not unsightly, they just wanted something a little more 2014, whilst still maintaining their image and branding.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Who is Surgical Holdings?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Surgical Holdings is a family business based in Southend-on-Sea since 1988. As well as being an award-winning manufacturer of surgical instruments, the company is also an established and experienced supplier and also provide <a title=\"Surgical Instruments Repair\" href=\"http:\/\/www.surgicalholdings.co.uk\/surgical\/surgical_instruments.php?content=repairs\">surgical instrument repair<\/a>\u00a0and refurbishment. Surgical Holdings has been supplying the NHS and private sector for the past 15 years.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The New Web Design:<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1834\" alt=\"Surgical Holdings Homepage Design\" src=\"https:\/\/www.silkstream.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/surgical-holdings-homepage.png\" width=\"791\" height=\"370\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.silkstream.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/surgical-holdings-homepage.png 791w, https:\/\/www.silkstream.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/surgical-holdings-homepage-600x280.png 600w, https:\/\/www.silkstream.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/surgical-holdings-homepage-624x291.png 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 791px) 100vw, 791px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The new homepage features a navigation header similar to their old web design in style, but with some new changes that makes <strong>navigation of the website even easier<\/strong> with an improved search design, clearer menu and social icons at the top of each page to <strong>encourage social engagement<\/strong> with their active social media accounts.\u00a0The full-width slider on their homepage visually highlights their landing pages in an attractive layout, sliding horizontally to display Surgical Holdings&#8217; beautiful photographs that depict their business. Featured beneath the large slider are their latest blog posts, a short summary of who they are and their latest Tweets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1835\" alt=\"Surgical Holdings Product Category\" src=\"https:\/\/www.silkstream.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/surgical-holdings-product-category.png\" width=\"565\" height=\"332\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Products are sorted into categories and subcategories so customers can browse easily for the products that they need. Customers are also able to download or view online infographics and PDF versions of Surgical Holdings&#8217; <strong>catalogues<\/strong> for various product categories.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1836\" alt=\"Surgical Holdings Product Page\" src=\"https:\/\/www.silkstream.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/surgical-holdings-product-page.png\" width=\"566\" height=\"303\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Once on the <strong><a title=\"Guide To Product Page SEO\" href=\"https:\/\/www.silkstream.net\/blog\/2014\/10\/guide-product-page-seo.html\">product page<\/a><\/strong>, the customer is able to see an overview of the product that they are interested in, as well as category navigation in the sidebar and breadcrumbs to show which category and subcategory they are viewing that particular product in. Surgical Holdings&#8217; blog is based on WordPress and <strong>seamlessly integrated into the design<\/strong> of their website, allowing Surgical Holdings&#8217; selected users to publish using the WordPress content management system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1842\" alt=\"Surgical Holdings Mobile Design\" src=\"https:\/\/www.silkstream.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/surgical-holdings-mobile.png\" width=\"262\" height=\"497\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Customers can even browse the Surgical Holdings website comfortably from their mobile device. Like all of our websites, we have optimised Surgical Holdings&#8217; website using a little something called <a title=\"Guide To Mobile-Friendly Websites\" href=\"https:\/\/www.silkstream.net\/blog\/2014\/08\/guide-mobile-friendly-websites.html\"><strong>responsive web design<\/strong><\/a>. The menu is hidden away at the top, next to Surgical Holdings&#8217; logo, behind the tap of the menu button.
